Dr. Christian Koch has been a lawyer since 1993. His main practice areas are contract law, advertising law, employment law and real estate law. He advises domestic and foreign companies in contractual matters, including employment law, and, where necessary, represents them in litigation, with special emphasis being placed on whether and how to avoid litigation depending on the aim pursued by the client.
He also provides counselling and representation in legal proceedings in cases of unfair competition and copyright and in the field of advertising and trademark law, including support with brand portfolios and the development of brand strategies, as well as acquisition and sale of marks and signs.
Real estate law, sales of properties, private building law and residential and commercial leasing are further principal areas of his legal work.
His clients mainly include medium-sized firms such as advertising agencies, commercial companies, project developers and property companies, but also self-employed and private persons and public companies.
Dr. Christian Koch studied at the Universities of Freiburg and Heidelberg and obtained his doctorate in the field of limited liability company law. He completed his internship in Hamburg. In the first few years after he was admitted to practise as a lawyer he was an associate with the law firm of Mönning & Partner and their predecessor organization.
In 1996 he founded his own law firm and in 2003 he joined forces with his brother, Dr. Clemens Koch, to set up the law firm of Koch & Koch Attorneys at Law.
